Diego Virgen (Guadalajara, 1989) is an artist and professional cook. Educated as a Civil Engineer in Food, Diego constantly uses a unique set of methodologies –from participatory design, relational aesthetics to food sociology– with the aim to positively impact citizens' everyday food practices.

« critical meals is my approach to innovate in food at the intersection of nutrition and sociology, architecture, art and design. My process focuses mainly on research and the conception of ideas from experimentation.

I tend to speculate about possible scenarios in our future. My goal is to provide citizens with tools that allow them to question and reflect upon their position around our complex food system. »
